Ingwer Paulsen, who is known as a painter and etcher from the North, has also devoted himself extensively to the theme of 'figure'. In addition to depicting vast landscapes and natural formations in the interplay of light and color, his works also include numerous academic studies on bodies and movements. The present painting dates from a time when a school of anthroposophical character settled on the North Sea coast.
