ÅKE JOHANSSON
Graphic artist and artist, born 1948. Åke Johansson studied at Grafikskolan Forum in Malmö in the early 1970s, under Bertil Lundberg's direction. He is one of Sweden's most prominent copper knitters.

His works are often about slowness, stopping and reflecting at a time when we are often chasing forward. His images explore the low-key, the thoughts we don't always talk about, as well as both loneliness and community.

His first exhibition was in 1976 at the well-known gallerist Petra's Lilla Paviljong on Glasbruksklippan in Stockholm.
Selected exhibitions:
Astley Gallery, Västerås 2006, Kalmar Konstmuseum 2005, 2002, 1995, 1991, Jönköpings Länsmuseum 2004, Grafikens hus 1998, Liljevalchs Konsthall 1992, Ystads Konstmuseum 1991, Norrköpings Konstmuseum 1989, Millesgården 1988.
