Hugo Köcke (1874-1956), Large River Landscape, oil on canvas, 1919, signed and dated, signed again on the back, dated and inscribed 'Berlin', ca. 100 x 150 cm, with frame approx. 124 x 174 cm.

Köcke studied at the school of the Kunstgewerbemuseum and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin. Since 1893, he regularly took part in the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. Since his move to Sylt, the island's motifs have decisively determined his work.
