Dimensions of sheet: 18 x 23.5 cm (height x width) Dimensions with frame: 33 x 43 cm (height x width) Paul Geissler was born on June 25, 1881 in Erfurt. There was an apprenticeship as a decorative painter and drawing lessons with the painter Sondermann. In 1903 he became a master student of Prof. Max Thedy at the grand ducal art school in Weimar.
Paul Geissler received commissions from the German empress and a Russian grand duke.
Important note: After his death, the etching plates were sold. All etchings made later lack the original signature.
