Erling Rolf Richard (1895-1970), together with his wife Astri Richard (1900—1992), founded the clothing company Erling Richard AB in 1925. The brand was, together with Saléns, Gille models, Bengtsons, Fougstedts, Wettergrens, Béve, and others, known for its “translation” of French models into “exclusive clothing” for the Swedish market. The company commissioned photos of its new collections which the sellers then took on their sales trips along with the sample collections.
