Dimensions canvas 36.5x31.5 cm, dimensions with frame 52x46.5 cm.

On the reverse side is written “S.J Nordenberg, Tranemåla, age 18”.
After investigation, we consider it highly likely that the portrait was painted by Henrik Nordenberg and depicts his brother Sven Johan Nordenberg who was born in 1859, hence painted in 1877. Henrik was then 20 years old so it is an early work of art by him. The Nordenberg family were residents of Tranemåla, the parish of Asarum, at this time. Attached are screenshots from the Asarum parish house interrogation length of the 1860s and 1870s.
