The special print, a folded A3 sheet, comprises four pages.
This satire of the Swedish tax system in form of a fairy tale was first published in Expressen on 10 March 1976. It attracted enormous attention. The Moderates Party leader Gösta Bohman read out the fairy tale in the Swedish Parliament and the Minister of Finance, Gunnar Sträng, succeeded only in angering Astrid Lindgren when he said that she was showing “profound ignorance” about the tax system. All in all, Astrid Lindgren's fairy tale is thought to have contributed to the Social Democrats losing power in the 1976 elections for the first time in 40 years.
Literature: Lars Bengtsson, Bildbibliografi — Astrid Lindgrens skrifter, p 313.
Very good condition.
Astrid Lindgren & Maj Lindman from the collections of Magnus Palm
