Carouschka Anna Carina Streijffert, known as Carouschka, is a Swedish artist and interior designer born on August 23, 1955 in Stockholm. She studied at Gerlesborgsskolan and Konstfack in Stockholm between 1971 and 1978. Carouschka has had a long and varied creation, with a wide range of works in design, paintings, photography, collages, scenographies, carpets, art objects and interiors. She has worked on both art and interior design commissions, and is known for her Ticketscollages and unique rugs.
Carouschka divides her time between her home in Stockholm and a remote island in Stockholm's outer archipelago, where she lives without electricity and water. On the island, she creates her sculptures and finds inspiration from nature and the surrounding environment. She has been active in art and design for almost 40 years and has held numerous exhibitions and taught at art and design courses in Sweden.
In her painting, Carouschka often uses a free and expressive style, where she explores abstract shapes and patterns. Her paintings are often brightly colored and emotionally charged, reflecting her dynamic view of the world.
