Description

“Two fractions illustrated in circles, one as quarters, the other as eighths form a base of two marbles. At the top there is a fraction in thirds, forming the glans. These are bound together by various other fractions, forming the contours of a limb”

Approx 40x30.5cm.

Martin Möldener, artist and writer from Linköping. In his paintings we see inspiration from both Matisse, Chagall and Sven X Erixson. Spinal cord painting is what Martin calls his painting, where he sometimes disconnects the brain and lets chance work. It's about the power of creation, of indulging and going back to the primitive. What we see are simplistic features in an expressionist spirit.
The tension lies in the meeting of emotions and people's inner thoughts.
Martin has a versatility in his creation where the image sphere and words meet and take shape.

Literally is a drawing project by Martin Möldener that deals with idiomatic expressions, sayings, words and proverbs that are interpreted from a literal perspective. About 500 original drawings have been made on the subject, which are collected in two books, Literally 1 and 2. From these books, Möldener draws some original drawings on larger formats with ink on passepartout.
