Karl-Erik Höglund, born 1940 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish artist whose work spans graphics, painting and sculpture. By working with small denomination shifts, he creates a sense of depth and movement in his pictorial works, often in vigorous and clear colors. His motifs often reflect people in nature and archipelago environments, where the Swedish summer and meetings between people are recurring themes.

Höglund's oil paintings bear clear influences from the French Impressionists, but with a unique personal expression. He is an accomplished colorist who uses color and light to convey a sense of presence and atmosphere, and in his landscapes and figurative works there is an almost poetic quality.
