The coffin table dated 3/12 1839 and marked on the front door with HKS and MBD.
The door mirror depicting a landscape with houses and the frame itself mirrors with painted floral arrangements of tulips and roses surrounded by painted fields. The box above the door is cut from leaves and painted in green, red, yellow and white.
The stone slab is by Komstasten, dated 1782 and marked with the initials PIS LMD and with 2 holes in the corner for the fisherman to cleave his fishing hooks.

Note. The coffin table has its origins in the high-status environments of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance on the continent. In Sweden, chest tables have served as high-seat tables and had their main distribution in Skåne, Halland, Småland, Västergötland and southern Bohuslän.
According to previous information from the late museum director Gustaf Åberg, Simrishamn, there would only be 3 coffin tables of this high quality in Österlen.
Provenance: Purchased in Skillinge 1951/52 for SEK 50 by the current owner together with his father.
