George Lilanga (1934-2005), Twendeni nyumbani (Let's go home), oil and varnish on hardboard, signed in 1999, dated on the back and titled in Swahili, approx. 61 x 61 cm.
PROVENANCE: acquired from the estate of Captain Felix Lorenz, Lauenburg.
With confirmation of authenticity from Capt. Felix Lorenz, Lauenburg dated 2.4.2013.
Gerorge Lilanga was a sculptor and painter from the Makonde tribe and lived in Dar es Salaam/Tanzania. Lilanga's artistic work is one of the well-known examples of contemporary African and especially East African art.
