The devil glasses are designed by Gunnar Cyrén and they are part of Orrefors Nobel series. The first glass, the black one, came out in 1996. Originally, only seven glasses were to be included in the series, one hand devil and six she-devils. In 2001, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize, a limited edition dark green glass was released. In 2008, it was decided that a new colour would be produced every year and would only be produced in the current year. In order for the series to continue to contain seven glasses, the purple glass was taken from the standard set. After that, a new glass (color) has been released every year. The 2018 devil has the color brown metallic. According to Orrefors, the 2018 glass is the last glass to be released in the series.
