GUSTAV II ADOLF'S BIBLE 1618. The Bible. Thet is: All then helgha scrifft on swensko. If the text of the previous Bible is unchanged: With the foreword on the books/ there were earlier no woro/ with summaries for the chapters/ marginalies/ several concordants, as well as useful explanations and registers/ etc. compounded. Stockholm aff Oloff Oloffson, 1617-18.
Foil (about 350 x 225 mm.). (26, first 6 leaves by title cooked mainly in marrow. m. minor text losses), 101, (1 blank), 102-301, (1 blank), 302-422, (1 blank), 423-626, (1) sheet (from fol. 608 final fixes o. other defects with text loss, last 3 leaves in facs.) .Illustrated with numerous woodcuts. 3 partly engraved and partly with red and black printed title leaves (main title partly defective o. fed). (Engraved portrait missing, replaced by facs.9. 1 engraved map (out of 3, 2 missing), 1 engraved double-sided plank (upskirted, marg.damaged)..
Later (18th century) renovated brown skbd, buckles and metal fittings, support buttons (1 missing), new sleepers, new inner binding paper, pre- o. postage sheets. Back m. five raised bindings, marbled cuts.
In addition to the mentioned repairs about 30 leaves and minor repairs in the marrow. or smaller tears, about 10 leaves with ink stains. A few sheets with inscriptions or pre-smears.
