The painting was originally transferred to Germany in the 1960s as a gift to his wife by a banker who worked professionally in Australia. After her death, the painting was passed on to a family and has been around for approx. owned by them for seven years.
The Australian artist Albert Namatjira began his creative phase in the early 1930s and was known above all for his romantic landscape depictions of his homeland.
Slightly faded at the edges, minimal signs of wear.
