Description
Spark pin rifle by A.F Hagström's 2:modell fm/1865, manufactured by Carl Gustafs City Rifle Factory.
Of this experimental model, 100 were produced for testing in the Swedish Army. The model was not adopted and almost all copies were purchased for Norrköping's Skarpkyttekår, single copies were sold to Stockholms Skarpkyttekår, of which this is one of two known copies. The second specimen with serial number 8 is in the collections of the Livrustkammarens.
Browned pipe with six grooves. Bruised thumb grip and lever. Whole stock of birch. Several parts stamped with the serial number 6. Some flame hardening remains on the lower part of the barrel as well as the lock housing. On the right side of the flask is an oval silver plate with engraved text: “R. Holmström Shooting Prize at Allmänna Skarpkytte Competition in Stockholm 1866". Unleavened sieve blade.
Length about 140 cm, caliber about 12 mm.
