Provenance: Collection Carl Anton Ossbahr (1859-1925) there after in bequest to Johan Wilhelm Spaak (1864-1957) and there after in inheritance to the present owner
History: The photograph depicts museum man Carl Anton Ossbahr (1859-1925). At the turn of the century he was chamberlain to Queen Victoria and spent a lot of time in Rome. The marble head may have been acquired at this time or when he retired in older days with the collection of, among other things, antique coins as a major private interest.
