Dressed in black leather. Redressed in 2011. Badge marked. Also marked with the name of the furniture upholsterer and the date of dressing. Black lacquered legs. Height 84 cm. Seat height 39 cm. Width 70 cm.

Carl Malmsten, born 7 December 1888 in Stockholm, and deceased on 13 August 1972 in Solna, Stockhom, was a Swedish interior designer and furniture designer. Malmsten was a prominent furniture maker and is regarded as one of the foremost in its field in Sweden.

Malmsten's philosophy is characterized by a striving towards a Swedish character and simplicity. He was inspired by traditional styles, such as Gustavian style in the 18th century and everyday living in the 19th century. Ore stone used natural woods such as birch and furrow and emphasized the properties of wood in its furniture. He was considered particularly adept at creating seating furniture.
