Berndt Friberg is one of the greats of Swedish ceramics. On skillfully turned vessels in classical forms he applied glazes that, according to contemporary critics, surpassed ancient Chinese models. When I selected items for this auction, I decided to weed out the few “fine” Friberg I had in favor of Friberg before he became the great master. /MP
