It is difficult to say how long this type of carpet has been made with it is believed to have lasted thousands of years and is part of Afghanistan's cultural heritage to the world.

These carpets have a good reputation for their aesthetic and durable properties. They are often characterized by deep red colors and mesmerizing patterns, and their traditional knotting method creates sturdy rugs that can withstand use over time. Khal Mohammadi and Afghan Aqche are particularly popular types of Afghan carpets, often knotted in the red color spectrum with dominant patterns such as Göl (elephant foot pattern) and stars.
