Joseph Tavernier (d. 1859), two river landscapes with figural staffage, watercolor with gouache, each signed and titled, each ca. 26 x 41 cm (illustration dimensions in oval), each framed behind passe-partout and glass, with frame approx. 44 x 58.8 cm
Tavernier was born in Vannes, Brittany and worked as a painter and watercolorist. In 1839 he settled in Brüsel, where he died in 1859. He dedicated himself primarily to landscape painting.
Condition
Not framed, examined. Minimally browned. Frame with small signs of wear.
