Bayonet length approx. 37 cm, marked: UC, UOS, 1942
A F H, stamped.
Tub marked: V P 15, US and stamp
“This was originally a M1905 16" bayonet produced by United Cutlery, that was cut down to 10", as many of the longer original bayonets were modified this way in WWII when the 10" bayonet became standard length. You can tell these modified bayonets by the blood groove which extends to the tip. The Bowie Tipped bayonets are the earliest modified bayonets done during the war and the Bowie tip was stopped soon after since these resembled Japanese-style bayonets”.
Very nice used condition.
