Description

Designed and built by Börje Olsson, 1949 at Archimedes' experimental workshop.

Pistons and connecting rods and modified crankcase from model B-3 Racer, Air-cooled cylinder heads. Damper in the exhaust horns to find the appropriate back pressure. The engine was a prototype in an example that was never used in competition Cylinder diameter: 79 mm Stroke: 64 mm Cylinder volume: 492 cc Carburetor: Vacturi Internal rotating slide -135 degrees / +44 degrees TDC and piston-controlled intake 42 degrees TDC Flushing system: Two-stroke, cross flushing.
Ignition: initially battery with switch, now “Runtronic”, switchless.
Fuel: Methanol with 8% castor oil

Curiosities Börje Olsson:
Olsson with #52 from Bro debuted in 1946 with Trim CR. In 1947 he became 6th at SM with an Archimedes B-3 he himself trimmed. In 1948, Börje finished fifth in SM but won the points league last year.
