Together with husband Sture Johannesson, they made trips to Los Angeles where they hung out in the circle around Steve Wozniak at Apple.
The American computer company helped with work materials and the Malmö couple Johannesson had access to one of the most advanced Apple systems of the time. Their artist collective Digitalteatern was Sweden's first digital graphic studio which, among other things, consisted of 9 Apple IIs as well as printers, light pens, synthesizers etc. In their studio during the 1970s and 1980s, the pair created, among other things, the ground-breaking suite with Björn Borg, Boy George, David Bowie and Ahmed Shah Massoud.

Charlotte Johannesson has recently been discovered by the institutions and was presented with an exhibition at Malmö Konsthall in 2017. This was the starting point for a series of subsequent exhibitions in Europe, which was crowned with an exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2022.
