Leather and engraved reindeer horn. Unsigned. Total length including tub 15 cm. Length of the knife 13.5 cm.
A Sami knife, also known as "Sámi čuoku" in Sami, is a traditional knife used by Sami people groups. It has an important role in Sami culture and tradition and has historically been a versatile utility knife used for a variety of purposes including working leather and wood, carving, cleaning fish and game, as well as performing everyday tasks.
The Sami knife has a characteristic appearance with a short, curved blade and a rounded or oval shape. The blade is usually made of carbon steel and has a sharp edge. The handle is traditionally made of reindeer antler, bone, wood or other natural materials and may be decorated with carvings or inlays of metal wire or beads.
Condition
Normal wear and tear. A few minor marks/ Chips on the edge, have probably been sanded recently.
