Description

Color lithograph by Pierre-August Renoir with the image "Gabrielle à la rose" (Gabrielle with rose) from 1911.
Stamp signature lower right Numbered 169 of 250 Dimensions approx. 65x47.5cm.

The French painter was a main representative of Impressionism. In the 1860s he first came to painting in the open air, then to the style of impressionism. His preferred motifs were women with beautiful bodies, which he realized as sensual nude paintings.
Renoir also dedicated his depictions to scenes from the everyday life of civil society in Paris. They are characterized by a cheerful and light atmosphere in a colorful design.
In contrast to the Impressionists, Renoir's later paintings have an endearing vitality that capture the beauty of life. With around 6000 works, Pierre Auguste Renoir was also one of the most productive painters in art history.
