approx. 57x25.5 cm frame dimensions 72x38.5 cm MAJ HEMBERG Hemberg was a Swedish painter and graphic artist.
She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Weimar and the State Academy of Arts in Berlin and remained in Germany until 1945. Her figures, such as the auction's "The light and the dark voice", usually had an allegorical and symbolic character. All her work from 1922 to 1945 was destroyed in the bombings at the end of World War II, but her production continued even after this event.
