Copper molds with various decorations in relief have a long and rich history in the bakery and pastry industry. Originally, wooden and terracotta templates were used to create patterns on baked goods in ancient Greece and Rome.

During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, people switched to wooden molds, and it was only during the 17th and 18th centuries that copper molds began to be used. The copper molds were made by hand and replaced the wooden molds thanks to copper's ability to give fine details in the cutouts.

Industrialization led to more efficient mass production of the molds, making them more accessible to a wider audience. During the 20th century, copper molds had a renaissance and are still used today by professional bakers and pastry chefs.
