Description
Karlheinz Schrader (1925-2012), Finkenwerder Fischer in the evening mood, oil on canvas, signed, approx. 30 x 40 cm, with frame approx. 42x52cm.
After completing an apprenticeship, Schrader joined the Navy in 1948, was taken prisoner and initially painted for French officers. After the war, he increasingly devoted himself to painting and began exhibiting in well-known galleries from 1954.
Contact with the well-known marine painter Johannes Holst was not without influence, but Karlheinz Schrader always followed his own line. He is one of the best-known marine painters in the north.
