Olivier Debré (1920-1999) was an influential French painter associated with the abstract art movement.
He was born in France into a family of artists and began his career as an architect, but he soon devoted himself entirely to painting. Debré developed a distinctive style that emphasised the bold use of colour and shape, by gestural brushstrokes and large areas of vibrant colours. His works evoked imaginary landscapes and emotional moods, exploring the relationship between painting and human experience. Throughout his career, he experimented with a variety of techniques and media, from watercolours to large-scale murals. Debré was also a prolific writer on art and a passionate advocate of contemporary art. His legacy lives on as one of the greatest figures of 20th Century French Abstract Expressionism.

Made for the "Suite Olympic Centennial" and published by Centennial Editorial (Martí March) in Barcelona in 1992. Reference bibliography: Bibliography: M. Basso and C. Durán-Basté, "Suite Olympic Centennial: 50 Grands Peintres", Lausanne, Musée Olympique, 1994; "Olympic Centennial Suite: contemporary graphic work", Málaga, Provincial Council of Málaga, Culture and Education Area, 1997.
