Description

This porcelain figurine depicts a barefoot dancing woman. She is captured in a dynamic moment, her brown hair and yellow dress with brown hems lingering in mid-air. A blue cloth can be seen on her right thigh, which nestles in front of and behind her body and finally ends on the floor.
And although her right knee touches the ground and her like leg is extended backwards, the figure's center of gravity is in the middle of her body. Technically, this filigree composition is concealed by the cloth lying on the floor.
As can be seen in the photo, the figurine is white with color accents and details: her eyes and eyebrows are painted black, her eyelids blue and her lips red.
On the bottom of the figure there is an engraving by K. Tutter and a blue workshop embossing of HUTSCHENREUTHER 1814.
This object may have been designed earlier, in the period between 1922 and 1940. However, the green embossing on the bottom is only in use from 1969.

K. Tutter signature stands for the Austro-German sculptor Karl Tutter (b. 1883 in Neudeck, died. 1969 in Selb).
He modeled in the State Museum for Regional Studies, in the Royal Privileged Porcelain Factory Tettau, and in Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory. In addition, he was represented with a total of 18 works at the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich. Until 1956 he created expressive, highly popular sculptures in the Art Deco style in various forms and functions, so that in 1941 he received an honorary prize for sculpture in Bayreuth.
