Rolf Diener (1906-1988), Blankenese Strandweg, watercolour, 1987, signed and dated lower right, titled lower left, approx. 38 x 46.7 cm.
Diener received his training from Arthur Illies at the State Art School in Hamburg, among others. Diener's works show his involvement with classical modernism and abstraction. A solo exhibition of his works took place in 1957 in the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
