Yrjö Edelmann was born in Finland and his family emigrated to Sweden when he was a child. He started drawing early, studied in Stockholm and initially worked as an illustrator and graphic artist. His career as a painter took off in the 1970s and galleries began exhibiting his work around the world. Since then, he has deceived the viewer's eyes with his hyper-realistic depictions of folded wrapping paper and packages. He has exhibited in New York, Tokyo, Paris and regularly in the United States.
