Vierländer Wedding Chest, 18th century.

Oak, walnut and other woods, partly ebonized, star inlays. Rectangular body on hemispherical ball feet with a slightly curved lid. On the front two octagonally edged, cambered cushion fillings in a black contrasting profile frame. Circumferential band with recessed fillings and blown decorative ornaments. Lettering: "Elsche Riecken - Anno 1735". Hinged straps, the handles on the narrow sides and the box lock with the key plate made of forged iron. Inside small lid compartment and 12-piece. Compartments in the bottom (later). HxWxD: approx. 76x142x74cm.
