Alvar Beyer (b. 1970), Erebus Rot, acrylic on canvas, signed on the reverse, 2013, approx. 29×36cm.
The early encounter with the work of Caspar Friedrich David was decisive for Alvar Beyer. After studying painting with Arno Rink and Neo Rauch at the Academy for Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig and a few scholarships (Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York and Center for Visual Arts in Jerusalem), Alvar Beyer sets off for remote areas Mountain landscapes in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan and Siberia. These experiences have an ever greater influence on his visual worlds.
More than landscapes, the artist depicts pictorial spaces in which he "traces the duality of the material and spiritual world".
No remarks.
