The New Egyptian style was a style in fine arts from the mid-18th to the early 20th century, which emerged from the enthusiasm for ancient Egyptian culture (Egyptomania) that prevailed at the time.
The sofa has style-typical carved ornaments and embellishments. The yellow upholstery fabric is probably lovingly hand-painted. The coral striped stretch fabric of the back stretch part is probably silk.
