OUTCAULT, RICHARD FELTON. Buster Brown, his antics and laudable intentions. (Stockholm), Light, (1908).
Across 4:o.240 x 358 mm. (16) leaves. Slightly worn original cardboard binding. The bindings slightly curved. Faint moisture stain on the front cover, the back partially faded and with a moisture stain in the lower corner. Near throughout, weak dampstrip in the outer and lower margins. A couple of minor edge tears.
Very unusual. Usually counted as the first serial album in Swedish. Two albums were translated into Swedish and published by Ljus förlag, the second one, with the title "Buster Brown, his dog Tobby and what happened to them" was published around 1910. Richard Felton Outcault (1863-1928) is counted among the most important pioneers in comic literature. He broke through in 1894 with "The Yellow Kid" in the New York World magazine. Buster Brown began publication in 1902.
The band is slightly worn, damp spots, minor edge tears.
