Description
Decentius (probably brother of Magnentius) was, as a close relative of Emperor Magnentius 350, elevated to Caesar with an area of activity in Gaul. Decentius successfully defeated the Alemanni. In 353 he moved south to assist Magnentius in the fight against Constantine II, but was reached in Sens by the news that he had lost his life after his defeat, after which Decentius followed his example.
