
Approx 48x47.5 cm HISTORY: Ove Carlson is a painter and digital graphic artist, born in Gothenburg in 1950, living in Stockholm. Carlson studied mathematics and computer science at Gothenburg University and painting for Philip von Schantz periodically from 1984-1992. His painting can be seen as an exploration of geometric abstraction and the geometric shapes gave him the idea to use computers in the creative process as well as to design and manufacture furniture. In his work, Ove Carlson is inspired by minimalism and conceptual art and is the designer of ArtGen, a computer program that randomly creates images in a constructive spirit and which has attracted interest even outside Sweden's borders. The artist is represented at the Arithmeum Bonn (Germany), Art Center Elblag (Poland), Lublin Museum (Poland), the National Art Council, Gothenburg Art Museum, Norrköping Art Museum, Sundsvalls Museum as well as a large number of county councils and municipalities and private collections.
