(GÖDING, OLOF J.). Love Potion, or A Newly Invented Old Recipe. All sensible wives unanimously testify that they have used this love potion to their advantage, and won the love of their husbands, even of others, even if they were never so cold-hearted and strange, and still used it to their peculiar advantage. Our handsomest gentlemen medici know no better medicine or philtron, which they themselves confess. Issued all sensible women to service, who are moon about the love of their husbands. 4th. (16) pp. Hfrbd in somewhat odd binding, brown leather spine, covers covered with marbled paper and title label on cover, slightly worn. Pink inner double blur. Slightly stained.

Provenance: Clas Ifvarsson (1941-2012), CEO and CEO of Stockholm Stadshus AB. Former CEO of a couple of companies within the city of Stockholm and for a period active in municipal politics. His impressive book collection consisted for the most part of Swedish wit from the 17th-19th centuries, but also of many other important works with an emphasis on Sweden. Ifvarsson was very interested in cultural history and was also a committed and knowledgeable collector, which was evident in his extensive library.
