Alkhovsky comes from a family of artists and studied at the well-known academy 'I. E. Repin' in St. Petersburg, where he later worked as a lecturer. Since 1996 the artist has lived alternately in Hamburg and St. Petersburg and meanwhile enjoys an international reputation. Most recently, the Kunstverein Worpswede showed the artist's work in the 'Blue House', and an exhibition in St. Petersburg is being planned.
