Johann Gabriel Doppelmaier (Doppelmayer, Doppelmayr), 1677-1750, astronomer, professor of mathematics and cartographer in Nuremberg. From his most famous atlas "Atlas novus coelestis", published in 1742. The charts show the theories of Horrocks and Bernoulli regarding comets.
