Worn contemporary leather binding with torn spine, burst cuts. The insert stained, tears at the edges, moisture marks towards the end. Last leaf loose and with paper losses. Strengnäs Gymnasii Bibliothek crossed out on the inside of the front cover, ditto signature Carl Enhörning, dated 1720, J. P (?) Hofberg's signature, dated 1842, and Hj. Lundgren's, dated 1915. The latter's ex-libris and gold-embossed cover monogram.
Pages 9 and 10 do not exist, the title of the plate begins with the word kustod on p. 8. Last page mispaginated 120.
The engraved plates are i.a. performed by Truls Arfwedson, O. Thelott and T. Spiegelberg.

Provenance: Clas Ifvarsson (1941-2012), CEO and CEO of Stockholm Stadshus AB. Former CEO of a couple of companies within the city of Stockholm and for a period active in municipal politics. His impressive book collection consisted for the most part of Swedish wit from the 17th-19th centuries, but also of many other important works with an emphasis on Sweden. Ifvarsson was very interested in cultural history and was also a committed and knowledgeable collector, which was evident in his extensive library.
