The JLC AMVOX 1 Alarm, ref. 190.T.97, is an extremely nice, rugged and light luxury sport's titanium wristwatch with alarm, made in a limited edition of 1000 examples to commemorate the partnership between Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin. The name AMVOX comes from the shorthand of Aston Martin initials and the end of the world memoVOX (JLC alarm watches). The partnership between the super car maker and the watchmaker led to a pursuit of excellence. The model was launched in 2005-2006 and yet it still retains freshness and relevance in 2021. The model is no more available.
The water-resistant circular 42 mm. brushed titanium case comes with a screw back centred by Aston Martin logo, a domed sapphire crystal, three crowns, the one at 2 to set and wind the alarm, the one at 3 to set the inner bi-directional revolving grey disc calibrated for 1/5th of a second, the last one at 4 to set and wind the mean time. The snap on case back is engraved « Limited Series no. 309/1000 Aston Martin Jaeger-LeCoultre », bears 14 holes for a better sound dispersion.
The two-tone grey satin dial, with central revolving disc for the alarm, concentric ring with 270 degrees painted large luminous Arabic numerals display and two-tone 15/30 minutes division for the alarm, aperture for the date at 3, luminous hands, sweep center seconds, outermost 1/5th second division with applied steel indexes. The arc of numerals inhabited 270° of the dial in sympathy with Aston Martin’s speedometers gracing car dashboard counters.
This wristwatch is powered by a calibre JLC 918, a mechanical self-winding movement, rhodium plated with 22 jewels. The brown leather strap is fitted with a brushed titanium deployant clasp. Dial, case and movement signed.
The watch comes with a Jaeger-LeCoultre Certificate of Guarantee dated April 2006, instruction manual « AMVOX 1 » booklet, original fitted presentation box with metal black engraved « AMVOX1 Alarm, Limited Series of 1000 pieces in Titanium, Specially handcrafted by the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre for Aston Martin », flanked by Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin logos, and outer packaging.
