Qing, nineteenth century, the scene with a quayside and lime kiln, attendant workers and figures, a small building hung with a banner with the title:
‘The shop of Defeng has good quality lime to offer here’
watercolour and gouache on paper, within black tramline border,
69cm x 118.5cm (75cm x 124cm including frame).

Condition

Under glass, unexamined out of glazed frame.
later frame, some age fading and browning, scattered spotting and light cockling to paper surface, a few old closed tears to left hand of the image.
