Description

16cm high x 11cm wide.

Copper Fumed Raku:
This is a distinctive and colourful technique that will brighten any home and is a perfect gift for any occasion. Each pot is hand thrown, then fired using the ancient Japanese technique called Raku creating a completely unique ornament. The pot is fired to over 1,000 degrees centigrade, lifted from the kiln, glowing red hot and placed into burning sawdust. The flames and smoke react with the copper on the surface. The resulting reduction & oxidation process produces the most amazing effects and a stunning array of colours, making each pot a one off.
For our collectors, these pots are unique but the style and colours are replicable so similar ones can be commissioned to create a decorative assortment. These Raku pots are still porous so unable to hold water but they are ideal for dried flowers.
