Ebba Evy Kristina Låås, was born on 2 October 1923 in Sånga-Säby, Stenhamra in her beloved house and parental home Solsäter. She lived her entire life at Solsäter until her death on April 6, 1999. Evy studied from the age of 17 at the Technical School in Stockholm, Ollers and Otte Skölds painting schools and the Art Academy between the years 1949 and 1955. Evy had a unique ability to observe animal anatomy and movements. Due to a handicap, the observations were mostly made from inside her house, through the window, which makes one impressed by her precision. In addition to life in Stenhamra, she has spent a lot of time in Lapland and in Bohuslän. But Africa also came to make a deep impression on Evy and she then made several work trips there over the years. Then she lived and drew from within the game reserves. Evy's life was characterized by long periods of illness and anxiety, but her work radiates with color and zest for life. You experience her as a person who has seen details and beauty where the rest of us would only have seen everyday life.
