The Meissen Porcelain Manufactory inspired the decors from ancient China for the "Indian Painting" decor. In the 16th and 17th centuries, European conquerors brought China porcelain to Europe for the first time. Meissen's own elements based on European taste complemented the traditional designs from the rich treasure trove of legends of Chinese mythology.
