Medicine. Månsson, Arvid, (ca. 1590-1649). Practica, or a small but useful vnderwijszning, about bloodletting, which veins can be used for several diseases, beginning on the scalp, and then down to the feet. Also some useful, and the majority of me tried cures, against many kinds of diseases, with many of them, whose and even author's names were recorded. From Latin and German books into our Swedish language, and also from an old Swedish medical book, with munckestyle scrifwin: affsatt aff Arwid Månszon Rydaholmensi, medico. With this perfect register, on the diseases that are described in thena practica. Printed by Chridtopher Günter, Linköping, 1642. Heavily worn small 8vo in a contemporary parchment binding. Condition

There are few things in this world that can be as sweet as an old book. The binding of this small rare book is as worn, scuffed and discolored as can be. Blank front pages are missing and three pages in the register are missing. The worn and stained title page is printed in red and black. Inner folds loose. The insert is sunny and layer-stained. Plenty of older handwritten notes on the inside of the covers. Some probably contemporary handwritten notes in the text.
