Description

-Record by José de la Cruz, Minister of War, addressed to Llauder and dated in Madrid on April 30, a few months before the death of Ferdinand VII. He begins by informing him of the reading he has made to the king of the "parte reservado" "en que se da cuenta de las tramas del ex-Coronel Saperas (a) Caragol, y en particular de su proyecto de hacer entrar en España a cuatro cabecillas". He ordered him not to lose "un momento de vista la montaña de ese Principado, limítrofe con Aragón, y que observe cuidadosamente la de Valencia". He concludes by congratulating him for his effective measures to prevent uprisings, "a fin de destruir hasta las esperanzas de los malcontentos". Stamp of the Ministry of War. 2 p. 29.5x20.5 cm

-Copy of the record by José de la Cruz, Minister of War addressed to General Vicente de Quesada, dated November 6 in Valladolid. It describes the growing concern about the increase of Carlist uprisings in some regions. He also expresses the fears provoked by the difficult situation in the centre of Castile and the actions by priest Merino. He concludes by expressing his fear: "sigo reducido a la más dolorosa nulidad y que continuando las cosas como se hallan llegaré a verme atacado y bloqueado en esta Capital". 7 p. 20.5x15 cm

-Letter signed by the Minister of War, Zarco del Valle, addressed to Llauder and dated in Madrid on December 21. He informs him of the flight to Portugal of many Carlist leaders, "sin duda con el objeto de arreglar con el Infante un nuevo plan de insurrección", for which he orders "la requisición de armas y su reunión en puntos de seguridad". 2 p. 21x15.5 cm

-Letter dated 26 November, with illegible signature, on the need to arm people to defend themselves from the sacking by Carlist troops, which Captain General refused to do. Located in the "Cont(ien)da", he was probably an active officer in Catalonia in 1833. 6 p. 20.5x15 cm.
